Estimates, not advice
Every result produced by TuitionTally's calculators — projected college costs, net price, monthly loan payments, total interest, payoff timelines, or amortization schedules — is an estimate calculated from the numbers you enter, using standard, published financial formulas. Nothing on this Site constitutes financial, legal, tax, or professional advice, and nothing here should be treated as a substitute for advice from a qualified financial aid officer, loan servicer, accountant, or financial advisor who can review your actual circumstances.
What the calculators don't account for
The college cost calculator does not account for, among other things:
- Aid that changes year to year rather than staying flat (many scholarships have renewal conditions)
- School-specific fee structures, differential tuition by major, or one-time charges
- Tax credits or deductions related to education expenses
The student loan repayment calculator does not account for, among other things:
- Income-driven repayment plans, where the payment is based on income rather than a fixed amortization schedule
- Interest capitalization that can occur during deferment, forbearance, or the transition out of a grace period
- Loan origination fees, late fees, or servicer-specific rounding
- Variable interest rates that change over the life of a loan
Real payment amounts, aid offers, and loan terms will come from your school's financial aid office and your loan servicer or lender — treat those as authoritative, and this Site's output as a planning estimate to sanity-check against them.
No warranty of accuracy
While we aim for the calculators to correctly implement the financial formulas they're based on, we make no warranty — express or implied — that any result is accurate, complete, or applicable to your specific situation. Use of any figure produced by this Site to make a financial decision is entirely at your own risk.
Third-party links
Where the Site links to external resources (for example, studentaid.gov or the College Board), those sites are operated independently. We aren't responsible for their content or accuracy, and linking to them isn't an endorsement of any product or service they may offer.
