This Privacy Policy explains what information TuitionTally ("we," "us") collects when you use https://tuitiontally.lucenta.dev (the "Site"), and how third-party services we use handle data. The short version: the calculators themselves collect nothing — every number you type stays in your browser. Third-party advertising and analytics services, when active, work differently, and are covered in detail below.
1. Information the calculators do not collect
The college cost and student loan calculators run entirely client-side, in JavaScript, in your browser. Loan amounts, income figures, tuition costs, or any other number you enter into a calculator is never transmitted to our servers, never stored in a database, and disappears the moment you close or refresh the tab. We have no account system, so we never collect a name, email address, or password from calculator use itself.
2. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may log basic technical data automatically for security and reliability purposes — for example, IP address, browser type, and request timestamps. This is standard server-log data, not tied to a user account, and is not used to build a profile of you.
3. Cookies and third-party advertising (Google AdSense)
When enabled, the Site displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting:
See the Cookie Policy for a fuller breakdown of cookie categories and how to control them in your browser.
4. Google Analytics
We may use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which pages are visited, how often, and from roughly where. Analytics is off by default and only activates when explicitly configured. Where active, Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyze information about use of the Site. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us using the details below and we will address it.
6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA and similar frameworks)
Because the Site does not require an account and the calculators don't transmit your inputs to us, there is generally no personal data of yours in our possession to access, correct, or delete. Where applicable law (such as GDPR or CCPA) gives you rights over data processed by third parties like Google on our behalf via cookies, you can exercise those rights directly through the opt-out links in Sections 3 and 4, or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.
7. Data retention
We do not retain calculator inputs, because we never receive them. Any server-log data described in Section 2 is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security and operational purposes.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when a new feature or third-party service is added. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
